Sunday Funday Ride

Spring has sprung! Sunday morning group rides are back!

These rides are very popular with the local cycling community and the regulars range in ability from racers to enthusiasts out for a fun ride.

If you have never ridden in a large group before, it can be intimidating.  If you need some pointers or additional assistance, we will be glad to help!  Our goal is to make your ride as enjoyable as possible.

All store rides are designed to promote the enjoyment of cycling in a friendly group atmosphere

Rides leave at 8:00AM SHARP from Bethel Cycle Works

Followed by complimentary coffee and bagels in the shop and the occasional pancake day at O’Neils.

ABC Ride - All levels are welcome.
A Group: 52 miles at 19-20+ mph
B Group: 52 miles at 16-18 mph
C Group:  Miles vary depending on turnout. Pace is 14-16 mph

WHAT YOU NEED

Rides require an appropriate bike in good working order, LIGHTS, water, and a helmet. We also suggest a spare tube, energy food, maybe a little cash in case we stop, and your biggest smile! Many rides are held subject to weather although we do ride in all kinds of weather.  It's a good idea to confirm dates, time and any specific requirements, too. We'll see you out there - and have fun!

RIDE AND EVENT DISCLAIMER

Our goal is to make every ride as enjoyable and safe as possible.  However, we cannot guarantee anybody’s safety.  We rely on all riders to use proper riding techniques and if you are unsure of proper etiquette or proper technique please ask.  We are here to help!  There are unknown and unforeseen potential hazards in every ride so we do expect all riders to pay attention and take reasonable precautions.  Helmets AND lights are required.  Please also ride within your limitations.  We are not racing the Tour de France.  If we see that you are not riding within your limitations or are becoming a hazard to others we will bring this to your attention nicely😊 We do this for your and everybody’s safety.

Also, it is everybody’s responsibility to follow all traffic laws.  We are not lemmings.  Just because somebody does something foolish does not mean you need to follow.  Use your head and enjoy your ride!

Where's Waldo Sunday MTB Ride

Join us for a ride at Waldo State Park. This ride is suitable for beginner, intermediate and higher level riders.

Trails are easy to moderate. Smooth flowy trails with slight up hill and down hill grades. All features have ride-arounds. Certain sections/trails can be technical.

For this ride, beginner truly means beginner. If you have never been on singletrack, join the fun and ride in a no pressure, no drop group. Beginner riders should expect 2-4 mph rides that will last any where between 30 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on the group. Distance will be 2-4 miles. We do our best to avoid extremely technical trails or sections.

Intermediate and above riders should expect to ride 1.5 hours. Distance will be 6-8 miles. Message us if you'd like to be a regular or occasional ride leader for this group.

All riders must bring a trail-worthy bike, closed-toe shoes, and helmet to each ride. We recommend bringing a water bottle/hydration pack. If you love mountain biking and care about the environment, consider joining NEMBA. NEMBA is the most effective way for you to build, maintain and open the trails you love to ride.
